2020.09.05 02:34 AutonInvasion CBL World Rankings: S3-R4-D3

CBL World Rankings: S3-R4-D3
Dispelling the Rumours
I know that you are here to read my write-ups on your favourite celebrities and to see how they're doing in the WR, but I wanted to take a moment to address the rumours that have been circulating about me.
Whilst I, like any other regular on CBL, will often comment about who I am voting for and the reasons why, in order to help build discussion and further participation, it is absolutely not true that I have been influencing the votes with subliminal advertising to benefit my favourites in the WR. After banning the postal vote for it's flaws, I can assure you that the WR remain free from influence and I uphold the integrity of the rankings furthermore.
I therefore wish to distance myself from anyone attempting to influence the votes and applaud all who call out such disgusting behaviour.
Vote Rebel Wilson!
There can only be one CBL winner, and it has to be Rebel!
Now moving on, here are the results from Thursday's games:
Premier League
As u/TheSnickerdoodleKid pointed out, two Marvel franchise characters battled it off as Mystique took on the Black Widow for the Premier League fight. Season 3 was promising to be the complete demise of Scarlett but she is fighting against relegation in this round with a clear win against her transfiguring opponent. with 56 more votes than J-Law, Scarlett regains 5 of her ranking points to increase her lead again against her second place opponent (more on that shortly).
u/Throwaway9630-2 felt there was some influencing going on here, but as I said, that is absolutely not true! Vote Rebel!
Jlaw’s hot, but feel like she’s been irrelevant since the fappening. Also, I feel like the pictures used are a bit unfair in Jlaw’s favour, but ScarJo’ winning this
League 2
With Marvel having so many movies out there, it's hard not to point out that the league 2 match was also fought by a couple more of the hottest stars in the comic book multiverse, with Alba's Susan Storm vs Atwell's Agent Carter. The titillating duo fought bravely, with many commenters coming out in favour of Atwell, but the nips of Alba stuck out strong and won this round by a coincidental 56 vote lead. Atwell has plummeted into the Marvel archives by 235 places into 279th, whilst Alba has climbed 5 to 30.
I'm not sure if u/ic_fury knows that British politics is a loose interest of mine as he seemingly quotes a traditional phrase from the House of Commons: Vote Rebel!
Jessica Alba's beautiful expressive eyes vs Hayley very noticeable cleavage. As I am voting for Jessica, I can truly say, "The eyes have it!".
League 3
Speaking of politics, starring as Woman#3 in the 2012 video short "Republicans: Get in my Vagina", Kate Beckinsale opened up her arsenal to take on one of the perkiest photos of Selena Gomez we have seen so far on CBL. Beckinsale's chesticles seem to have outdone her opposition however as she managed 32 more votes than Selena. Beckinsale climbs up Vote Bliss! 1 place into 2nd reaching her personal breast scoring. Selena also seems to have gained popularity this week, having climbed 26 places into her personal best of 8th earlier in the week, now down two of those in 10th place.
u/Turtle123712 also appealing to my humour here:
I really like Selena but I’m afraid I can’t go(mez) for her. I’m going for Kate and I think she will BeckinSAIL through this one
League 4
The leather-clad Camila Cabello with those magnificent thighs sought victory against the magnificent..well everything of Victoria Justice. The vote was very heavy in favour of justice and justice was well and truly served against poor Cabello who remains third from last in 377th. Victoria's rank is static however she missed out from climbing back into 10th by half a rank point!
u/TheSnickerdoodleKid went all Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story 3 when voting in this round...
Básicamente esto es Cuba 🇨🇺 contra Puerto Rico🇵🇷. Últimamente encuentro que me estoy enamorado más y más con Camila. Pero, Victoria le gana. Votar Rebelde! Si podría escoger los dos, lo haría. Desafortunadamente no es posible. Entonces voy con Victoria. ¡Boricua!
League 5A
A battle of some heroically petite proportions took place between Chloe Grace Mozzarella and Hayden Panna-cotta. this was a tough one as Chloe battled hard against her almost invincible counterpart, but the regenerative cheerleader won the round by 12 points. Vote Rebel! Pina-Colada climbs 52 places into 282nd whilst Morticia has also managed a 165 place climb into 63rd.
A very appreciative u/tobaccoroadeagle punned:
HAY, den's nice lookin legs... she's also posing to make sure that i can confirm that her elbows aren't too pointy, a much appreciated gesture. i may not be able to spell her last name, even when looking at it, but hayden still gets my vote
League 5B
Liz Gillies put up a chesty fight against Cobie's Smulders in this League 5B round. Despite the better presented display from her opponent, Cobie managed a 9 vote win against Gillies. Vote Rebel! Smulders still drops 314 places into 362nd this week, whilst Gillies drops 1, thirteen places below Smulders in 370th
I'm not sure that u/troyale10 has his priorities right here...
Smulders necklace is beautiful and the background is also great. Based on this, she gets my vote
Transitional League
Arguably, two of the hottest celebs on the planet to star in Disney movies took up arms in battle for the Magic Kingdom. Both within my age group (just saying in case they're interested in getting Autonsexual with this author of rankings) these beauties should both be higher than the 6th level of CBL. The votes counted, and Anne Hath-a-way of working her magic on you voters as she managed a 37 vote lead against Lily James. Anne however, has dropped 2 places this week into 22nd, whilst Lily James climbs 1 further rank from the bottom, in 371st!
Vote Rebel! Whilst she was seemingly attempting the sultry look, u/troyale10 put it bluntly here:
If only Lily would like a normal person and not so pissed off, voting for Anne
Conference Premier A
So were very close to the end of this round, and following this very poor meme that deserves all the downvotes in the world from an evil troublemaker: https://tinyurl.com/vote4rebel , it's the turn for Rebel Wilson vs Jenna Fischer. I'm sure most of you would agree, there could only be one winner of this round. However, as you didn't vote for her due to the impending certainty, you let the underdog voters become the majority and Jenna Fischer won. Yes, it was all fair and square. It just goes to show that you shouldn't remain complacent and every vote counts. Jenna Fischer now climbs up 6 places into 31st whilst Rebel hasn't dropped any ranks, but her score is now in single figures at 8.12, 11 points behind last but one Alexa Bliss. I hope you're all proud of yourselves. I'm going to sulk somewhere for a few hours.
u/_Rainmaker_4 had the spirit:
Imagine the scenes if Rebel is able to pull off a victory. They'd make a movie about it, such would be the underdog story of it:
Completely blown out her first three matchups, struggles to hit double figures for votes in each matchup. Goes up against (IMO) the most recognisable and popular person in her division. Everyone's expecting another blowout...but what's this? A surge of momentum for the underdog. Some might even call it a...Rebellion
Voting closes, everyone's on the edge of their seats. The results are in: She's done it! She's defied all odds and got a win on the board. Mass hysteria ensues...
However, he also said:
I mean I'm clearly still voting for Jenna because cmon, it's Pam from The Office
Traitor!
Special mention to u/Dugonginae who asked:
At what point does any number of votes above 10 for Rebel move her up the world rankings because her expected vote total is sooooo low?
She got 13 votes and still didn't manage a no-change or increase. I don't know what to say but I feel your pain too.
Conference Premier B
This battle of the bods should have been close. Candice Swanepoel and her absolute peach of a backside vs Julia Fox wearing nothing but her very-high-thigh-highs. Julia fans must be upset for Fox' sake as Candice won by a massive 52 points. Julia Fox drops 9 into 365th (I'm still distraught over Rebel!) whereas Swanepoel climbs 10 into 19th place.
Perhaps Fox is worthy of the very likely NSFW sub gentlemanboners with this week's pic, as u/Dojo_Casino voted for cl-ass!
What an ass-tastic matchup! I must ass myself, 'Which of these bootyful women gets my vote?' Butt, I noticed troyale10 pointing out the champagne at the rear of Fox's table. Ass a man of taste, I will choose her this time.
Top 10
The top 10 has certainly been volatile this week (with the exception of Scarlett of course). Beckinsale has knocked Kendrick down, Watson has regained her personal best and Mila Kunis and Selena Gomez have appeared on the table too! Where do your favourites sit? Are you pleased that Scarlett's losing streak has been halted? Are you surprised that Jennifer Lawrence was the one to cause that?
https://preview.redd.it/rtu4fgwt38l51.png?width=454&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc6406cca994d5a291fa36ae8a8858bd064cf586
Quote of the Day
The puns are getting cheesier and the competition is getting fierce for those 50 points. I have actually spent well over an hour on this post going through all of the comments whilst grieving over the Fischer-Rebel result. I wouldn't have minded so much if Rebel's score slightly increase. .01 would have been something. After considering the comments carefully, my favourite of the day, and this is not just because of the match it related to, was that of u/_Rainmaker_4 and his movie pitch. I'm not sure Rebel would approve of a movie starring her as herself, amongst a bunch of over 300 stick thin celebs and Homer Simpson being objectified for entertainment, however it is what it is, and I stand by the fact that we admire all of the celebs who appear on CBL.
I'm going off on a tangent and it's past 1.30am where I am and I'm starting to notice myself go loopy - even for me - so 50 points to Hufflepuff...I mean _Rainmaker_4!

2020.09.01 13:55 RELFantasticMaize2 My 18 year Generation Theory based on Cultural, Historical, and Technological Events

I decided to come back since this generation topic is just so interesting. Anyways, this is my generation theory. This will be my take on how I view each generation, based on 8 year pure cohorts and 10 year spectrums. Some of you may have seen a similar post like this in the past, as this is a repost, since I deleted the original post, with added notable people, and percentages of each generation. For those of you who have never seen the original post, in my opinion, I feel generations aren’t very clear cut and don’t evolve overnight. I don’t think people who are 15-17 years apart will share the exact same generation traits. I believe in 8 year solid cohorts, where the years that make up the quintessential part of the generation can be found. For Baby Boomers, it’s 1950-1957, for Gen X, its 1968-1975, for Millennials it’s 1986-1993, and for Gen Z, its 2004-2011. Everything else in between is a spectrum transitioning from one generation to the next. With these spectrums, every year, traits from the previous generation start to die off and new traits start to form, which would help lay the foundation for the next generation. With that out of the way, let’s begin:

Soomer Spectrum 1940-1949 Classes of 1958-1967
Last cohort to have any Silent traits, and the first to have any Boomer traits. They entered elementary school after World War II. They were all born after the introduction of the television. The first half were born during World War II and the last four years were born during the Baby Boom. They primarily spent most of their elementary school years and childhood during the post-war boom of the late 40s to mid 50s. The first half were born during World War II and the last four years were born during the Baby Boom. They are the 40s babies, were the pioneers of the Hippie Movement, and were the primary group drafted during the Vietnam War. They are the children of Greatests and Greatest Losts.
Famous people*: John Lennon, Bruce Lee, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Norris, Al Pacino, John Lewis, Bernie Sanders, Bob Dylan, Jesse Jackson, Kim Jong-Il, Muhammad Ali, Joe Biden, Stephen Hawking, Paul McCartney, Aretha Franklin, Robert De Niro, Mick Jagger, Danny DeVito, Jerry Springer, Herman Cain, Vince McMahon, Bob Marley, Donald Trump, Dolly Parton, Freddy Mercury, Sylvester Stallone, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Cher, David Bowie, Hilary Clinton, Arnold Schwarznegger, Elton John, Samuel L. Jackson, Prince Charles, Ozzy Osbourne, Meryl Streep, Billy Joel, Lionel Richie, Ric Flair, etc.\*

Pure Boomers 1950-1957 Classes of 1968-1975
Only cohort to have full Boomer traits. They entered elementary school after the Vietnam War began, primarily grew up during the rise of standard television, and entered high school after the Kennedy Assassination. The oldest year came of age in the year 1968, one of the most polarizing years in US history. Older Lost: 1890-1895 (100% Lost, the "true" group, even though they are the older group numerically, based on S&H are grouped in the middle)
Famous people: Dwight D. Eisenhower, Colonel Sanders, Babe Ruth, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, etc.
Middle Lost: 1896-1902 (the numerical "core" of the Losts, but might have the first signs of any GI traits)
Famous people: Paul Robeson, Amelia Earhart, Walt Disney, Louis Armstrong, Charles Lindberg, Emma Morano, Duke Ellington, Al Capone, etc.
Younger Lost: 1903-1908 (still mostly Lost but have significant GI traits, to the point where at times might be the majority)
Famous people: Lyndon B. Johnson, Dr. Seuss, Lou Gehrig, etc.

GI's: 1909-1927 (parents to members of Silents and Baby Boomers, rarely Generation X; children to Missionaries and Losts)
Older GI's: 1909-1914 (barely have any Lost traits remaining, almost fully GI)
Famous people: Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Rosa Parks, Jesse Owens, Gerald Ford, Joe DiMaggio, etc.
Middle GI's: 1915-1921 (probably 100% GI and the absolute representation of the generation, still too early for any sign of Silent traits)
Famous people: John F. Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, David Rockefeller, Roald Dahl, Ella Fitzgerald, Jackie Robinson, etc.
Younger GI's: 1922-1927 (still very GI but have significant Silent traits)
Famous people: Betty White, Stan Lee, Red Foxx, Charles Schulz, Mae Young, George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, Malcolm X, Dick Van Dyke, Barbara Bush, Marilyn Monroe, Hugh Hefner, Queen Elizabeth II, Andy Griffith, Jerry Stiller, William Daniels, etc.

Silents: 1928-1945 (parents to members of Baby Boomers and Generation X, rarely Millennials; children to Losts and GI's)
Older Silents: 1928-1933 (older Silents, barely have GI traits, almost fully Silent)
Famous people: Shirley Temple, Maya Angelou, Martin Luther King, Jr., Fred Rogers, Adam West, Joe Jackson, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Anne Frank, Clint Eastwood, Neil Armstrong, Regis Philbin, Johnny Cash, Gene Wilder, Joan Rivers, etc.
Middle Silents: 1934-1939 (Basically 100% Silents, but the younger group possibly have very slight Boomer traits)
Famous people: Bill Russel, Elvis Presley, Dalai Lama, Wilt Chamberlain, Bruno Sammartino, Bill Cosby, Jane Fonda, Jerry West, Pope Francis, John McCain, Morgan Freeman, George Carlin, Kenny Rogers, Ben E. King, Oscar Robertson, Marvin Gaye, John McArthur, Lee Harvey Oswald, etc.
Younger Silents: 1940-1945 (Still Silents, especilally due to being born during the war, not after it, but have strong Boomer traits)
Famous people: John Lennon, Bruce Lee, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Norris, Al Pacino, John Lewis, Bernie Sanders, Bob Dylan, Jesse Jackson, Kim Jong-Il, Muhammad Ali, Joe Biden, Stephen Hawking, Paul McCartney, Aretha Franklin, Robert De Niro, Mick Jagger, Danny DeVito, Jerry Springer, Herman Cain, Vince McMahon, Bob Marley, etc.

Baby Boomers: 1946-1964 (parents to members of Generation X and Millennials, rarely Generation Z/Homelanders; children to GI's and Silents)
Older Baby Boomers: 1946-1951 (the proverbial "core" of Boomers and what most people think of when you're talking about "Baby Boomers" but nonetheless still have some Silent traits)
Famous people: Donald Trump, Dolly Parton, Freddy Mercury, Sylvester Stallone, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Cher, David Bowie, Hilary Clinton, Arnold Schwarznegger, Elton John, Samuel L. Jackson, Prince Charles, Ozzy Osbourne, Meryl Streep, Billy Joel, Lionel Richie, Ric Flair, Dr. Phil, Bill Murray, Stevie Wonder, Robin Williams, Ben Carson, Phil Collins, Kurt Russell, etc.
Middle Baby Boomers: 1952-1958 (the actual "core" of Boomers, in-between zone for Post-War Boomers born in the late 40's-early 50's and Generation Jones born in the late 50's-early 60's, 100% Baby Boomer)
Famous people: Vladimir Putin, Patrick Swayze, David Hasselhoff, Hulk Hogan, Tim Allen, Cyndi Lauper, Oprah Winfrey, Jackie Chan, Denzel Washington, John Travolta, Roddy Piper, Walter Payton, Jerry Seinfeld, Howard Stern, Bill Gates, Kris Jenner, Steve Jobs, Bill Nye, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Bob Saget, Larry Bird, Mel Gibson, Caroline Kennedy, Bret Hart, Bernie Mac, Steve Harvey, Michael Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Alec Baldwin, Ice T, Madonna, Prince, Keenan Ivory Wayans, etc.
Younger Baby Boomers: 1959-1964 (the "Generation Jones" group, not as quintessential as the older Boomer group is but they are still very Boomer, though have some X traits)
Famous people: Simon Cowell, Magic Johnson, Weird Al Yankovic, Ultimate Warrior, Sting, Charlie Murphy, Dave Coulier, Mike Pence, RuPaul, Jane Lynch, Damon Wayans, Kathy Griffin, Tim Cook, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sean Penn, John F. Kennedy Jr., Barack Obama, Princess Diana, Billy Ray Cyrus, George Clooney, Eddie Murphy, George Lopez, Ralph Macchio, Stephen Hillenburg, Michael J. Fox, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, Steve Irwin, Michael Jordan, Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Whitney Houston, John Stamos, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Chamberlain, Michelle Obama, Courteney Cox, Eazy E, Keanu Reaves, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Jeff Bezos, etc.

Generation X: 1965-1983 (parents to members of Millennials and Generation Z/Homelanders, and rarely the post-Homeland generation; children to Silents and Baby Boomers)
Older Xers: 1965-1971 (the "Brat Pack" cohort that grew up in the 70's and came of age in the 80's and were the main target audience for many Gen X coming of age films during the 80's, were in the past considered to be the peak of Gen X, but now are the older group, still strongly X but might have some remaining BoomeJones traits)
Famous people: Robert Downey, Jr., The Undertaker, J.K. Rowling, Dr. Dre, William Zabka, Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Charlie Sheen, Shawn Michaels, Ben Stiller, Scottie Pippen, Mike Tyson, Adam Sandler, Gordon Ramsay, David Schwimmer, Halle Berry, Janet Jackson, Rick Astley, Vin Diesel, Matt LeBlanc, Kurt Cobain, Will Farell, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Jimmy Kimmel, Mark Ruffalo, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, LaVar Ball, Will Smith, Hugh Jackman, Celine Dion, Tony Hawk, Kurt Angle, Terry Crews, Owen Wilson, LL Cool J, Tracy Morgan, Gary Coleman, Phil Lewis, Molly Ringwald, Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jay Z, Jennifer Aniston, Triple H, Paul Rudd, P Diddy, Matthew Perry, Mariah Carey, Melania Trump, Queen Latifah, Taraji P. Henson, Shane McMahon, Chris Jericho, Ted Cruz, DMX, Shawn Wayans, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Elon Musk, Mark Walhberg, Winona Ryder, etc.
Middle Xers: 1972-1977 (Basically 100% X, Boomer influence is long gone and Millennial influence is not really around this group much, the actual "zeitgeist" of Gen X, grew up in the 80's and came of age in the 90's, around the time Grunge (the quintessential Gen X music genre) was most popular and before the internet broke out to new lengths with Windows 95, revolutionizing how we interact with each other)
Famous people: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Notorious B.I.G., Eminem, Shaquille O'Neal, Sofia Vergara, Big Show, Ben Affleck, Marlon Wayans, Gabrielle Union, Paul Walker, Edge, Pharrell, Tyra Banks, Neil Patrick Harris, Seth McFarlane, Jim Parsons, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jimmy Fallon, Rey Mysterio Jr., Lil Kim, Derek Jeter, Nelly, Ryan Seacrest, Christian Bale, Boogie2988, Sia, DJ Khaled, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, 50 Cent, Fergie, will.i.am, Drew Barrymore, Tiger Woods, Tobey Maguire, Chadwick Boseman (RIP), Will Friedle, Fred Savage, Ryan Reynolds, Candace Cameron-Bure, Reese Witherspoon, Peyton Manning, Rick Ross, Chester Bennington, Blake Shelton, John Cena, Kanye West, Shakira, Tom Brady, Psy, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Brock Lesnar, Donald Trump Jr., AJ Styles, Jason Earles, Jerry Trainor, Jeff Hardy, Steve Aoki, John Green, etc.
Younger Xers: 1978-1983 (the caboose of Gen X, in-between X and Millennial with strong Millennial traits but overall still leaning toward the X side, came of age after Windows 95 during the late 90s-early 00s, when pop culture was still X-oriented but quickly shifting in favor of Millennials, but before 9/11, in which changed the atmosphere of not only America but the whole world (even though it was a US event)

Millennials: 1984-2002 (parents to members of Generation Z/Homelanders and the post-Homeland Generation; children to the Baby Boomers and Generation X)
Older Millennials: 1984-1990 (the rise of Millennials, came of age right after 9/11, sometime in the 2000's, got to vote for either Bush, Obama, or both, and are probably the most liberal cohort of Millennials, compared to the middle and younger Millennials that possibly have a mix of liberals and conservatives, they have strong Millennial traits so while some of them have X traits, it is kinda weak compared to the Millennial traits that they have)
Famous people: Khloe Kardashian, Eric Trump, Lebron James, Katy Perry, Scarlett Johansson, Avril Lavigne, Prince Harry, Ben Shapiro, Aubrey Plaza, T-Pain, Carmelo Anthony, Mark Zuckerberg, Lauren London, Christiano Ronaldo, Jeffree Star, Bruno Mars, Ashley Tisdale, Roman Reigns, Raven-Symoné, Nipsey Hussle, J Cole, Lana Del Rey, Dean Ambrose, Anna Kendrick, Drake, Lady Gaga, Jenna Marbles, Josh Peck, Drake Bell, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Olson, Mary-Kate Olson, Seth Rollins, Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan, Lea Michele, Usain Bolt, Shia LaBeouf, Zac Efron, Lionel Messi, Blake Lively, Shay Mitchell, Michael B. Middle Millennials: 1991-1996 (the zeitgeist of Millennials, basically 100% Millennial, even if there are any sort of Z traits, it's not strong within this group, came of age after the Great Recession and 2008 election but prior to Gamergate, ISIS, etc. First election was either during the Obama or Trump elections)
Famous people: Ninja, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Joey Graceffa, Amanda Cerny, Gabbie Hanna, Azzyland, Tyler the Creator, Fetty Wap, DaBaby, Quavo, Tyler Posey, Shailene Woodley, Jamie Lynn Spears, Emma Roberts, Selena Gomez, Cardi B, Cole Sprouse, Miley Cyrus, Austin McBroom, SSSniperWolf, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Travis Scott, Dylan Sprouse, Mac Miller, Taylor Lautner, Ariana Grande, KSI, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Debby Ryan, Meghan Trainor, Victoria Justice, Sofia Carson, Miranda Cosgrove, Lucas Cruikshank, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Lil Uzi Vert, Camila Mendes, Halsey, Caspar Lee, Madelaine Petsch, Lil Baby, Logan Paul, Kendall Jenner, Ross Lynch, Timothée Chalamet, Post Malone, Gigi Hadid, Queen Naija, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, David Dobrik, Tom Holland, RiceGum, Lele Pons, Zendaya, Liza Koshy, Dove Cameron, Alissa Violet, 6IX9INE, Lili Reinhart, Noah Centineo, etc.
Younger Millennials: 1997-2002 (the caboose of Millennials, in-between Millennial and Gen Z/Homelander, having strong Gen Z traits, but still overall leaning toward the Millennial side of things, came of age before and during Covid-19, born around the new millenium and 9/11, during the Clinton and Bush administrations, first elections will all be while Trump is running for president, were kids and preteens during the recession and adolescents during the Obama administration, and born before the establishment of Homeland security, which is one of the reasons why they are all Millenials)
Famous people: Kylie Jenner, Jake Paul, Lonzo Ball, Camila Cabello, Nash Grier, Bella Thorne, KJ Apa, Becky G, Jacob Elordi, DDG, Infinite, Kodak Black, Lil Yachty, Olivia Holt, Kira Kosarin, Simone Biles, Blueface, Shawn Mendez, XXXTentacion, Brent Rivera, Tana Mongeau, Juice WRLD, Peyton List, Mr Beast, Jaden Smith, Tfue, Liangelo Ball, China Anne McClain, Peyton Meyer, Bradley Steven Perry, Khalid, James Charles, Madison Beer, Karan Brar, Grayson Dolan, Ethan Dolan, Sabrina Carpenter, Cameron Boyce, NBA Youngboy, Lil Nas X, Joey King, Addison Rae, Baby Ariel, Lil Pump, Jace Norman, Woah Vicky, Joshua Bassett, Kiera Bridget, Noah Cyrus, Willow Smith, Haley Pham, Meg Donnelly, Griffin Gluck, Dixie D'Amelio, Billie Eilish, Noah Beck, Emma Chamberlain, Morgz, Chloe Lukasiak, Nia Sioux, Rowan Blanchard, Isabela Merced, Hannah Meloche, Caleb McLaughlin, Lamelo Ball, Jacob Sartorious, Chase Hudson, Loren Gray, Maddie Ziegler, Asher Angel, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Skai Jackson, Jenna Ortega, Malu Travejo, NLE CHOPPA, Lil Tecca, etc.

Generation Z/Homelanders: 2003-2021 (parents to members of the post-Homeland Generation and onward; children to Generation X and Millennials)
Older Homelanders: 2003-2008 (the rise of the Homelanders, are probably 100% Gen Z because they have very strong Gen Z traits but possibly still have some lingering Millennial traits, especially those in the very beginning; came of age during or after the Covid-19 pandemic, born during the Bush administration and after the establishment of Homeland security, which is the main reason for them being Homelanders, the oldest in K-12, being in middle and high school during the new CDC laws this new school year, and will not be able to vote until there is a brand new president in office come 2024 at the earliest)
Famous people: Jojo Siwa, Cash Baker, Matty B, Johnny Orlando, Sophia Grace Brownlee, Aidan Gallagher, Lizzy Greene, Olivia Rodrigo, Charli D'Amelio, Annie LeBlanc, Mackenzie Ziegler, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Lauren Orlando, Grace VanderWaal, Ellie Zeiler, Lebron James Jr., Sky Katz, Casey Simpson, Francesca Capaldi, Sofia Wylie, Addison Riecke, Mace Coronel, EvanTubeHD, Honey Boo Boo, Ella Anderson, Isaac Ryan Brown, Gianna Bryant, Rosie McClelland, Ruby Rube, Barron Trump, McKenna Grace, Ava Kolker, Adelia Rose, Mason Ramsey, Trinitee Stokes, Ariana Greenblatt, August Maturo, Elias Harger, Malachi Barton, Jason Maybaum, Hayley LeBlanc, Mia Talerico, JillianTubeHD, etc.
Middle Homelanders: 2009-2014 (100% Homelander, the zeitgeist of the generation, too early to possess any new generation traits; born during the Obama administration, being the youngest group in K-12 during the coronavirus pandemic outbreak last school year, so they are the last to truly, vividly remember life before it but grow up mainly after it and will probably all start high school long after this is all over, some of the last to actually remember life before the 2016 election)
Famous people: Gavin Thomas, Christiano Ronaldo Jr., Riley Curry, Blue Ivy Carter, North West, etc.
Younger Homelanders: 2015-2021 (the caboose of Homelanders who are in-between Z and the next generation, having strong traits of the next generation while still primarily being apart of Gen Z; don't remember life before President Trump, and barely know life before the coronavirus, especially since none of them were yet in kindergarten preceding it, largely born during the tail end of the Obama and Trump administration)
Famous people: TBD (Too young to analyze)

2020.07.09 16:10 MySkinsRedditAcct Tips for figuring out your undertone, and why I think the regular advice is very confusing!

Upon finding this community the other day (so glad I did!) I realized many people are seeking assistance in figuring out their undertone. About a year ago I went on a quest to figure out any sort of "typing" about myself (skin undertone, body type, etc) with the goal of looking at myself more objectively. I know a lot of people are against typing of all kinds, but frankly it helped me step back and look at myself objectively, and thereafter be a lot kinder to myself.
I've watched... many many hours worth of videos and read just about every article out there on finding your skin's undertone, and so I'd like to add some tips and tricks that I've found helpful to go along with the stickied mod post! I'm not a certified...color typist? Just a regular person who has spent a ton of time learning about undertones.
Do NOT look at your face when trying to find undertone!
Undertones are a spectrum! Do not feel like you need to see obvious color to figure out your undertone!
Warm (radiant) <---------> Warm (Delicate) <---------> Cool (Delicate) <---------> Cool (Brilliant)*
\Credit for this terminology goes to MerriamStyle, whose color system I find infinitely more accessible than the typical 'seasons'. Her video on this system can be found here:* https://youtu.be/q_xcvInZifI
Now the ladies on either end of this spectrum are the ones who are forever used as examples of their undertone because it's so easy to see: Think Anne Hathaway (Cool & Brilliant) or Hayden Panitierre (Warm & Radiant). However most of us do not fall on these extremes. The closer we get to the "Delicate" range the more difficulty we have in determining our undertone. Why? Because our undertone is delicate, it's not pronounced and in your face. The most difficult skin undertones to type are those that fall in between the Warm & Delicate and the Cool & Delicate because those individuals have the least amount of either warm or cool coloring, and are usually typed as "Neutral". I do not find that anyone truly is ever a perfect 50/50 neutral, however using neutral foundations in this middle ground might be a great mix-in to tone down either a warm or cool based shade that's perhaps too pigmented for you!
Using our spectrum from above, you can perhaps start to see why the traditional methods of figuring out skin tone can lead to confusion. Let's take for our example a girl named Cornelia. She is someone who has very faint yellow tones to her skin, and is therefore a Warm & Delicate (but very close to being Cool & Delicate). So Cornelia wants to figure out her undertone. She Googles "How to find skin undertone" and goes through the usual tests.
- Do you look better in Gold or Silver jewlery? Well, she thinks, I don't know? I think I look fine in both?
- Do your veins look green or purple? Looking at her wrist, she laughs out loud, because her veins are both... and neither? What on earth is that color?!
- Do you look better in royal blue, warm brown, cool grey, or bright yellow? I don't know! That's what I'm trying to figure out! Cornelia shuts her laptop and gives up.
These types of questions can be incredibly difficult for people to answer because it's hard for many of us to objectively answer the "what looks better on you" question. So many people post pictures draped in different colors on forums only to get a cascade of "oh you look great in that blue!" from some and "you're so pretty in yellow!" from others-- the question is too subjective and open to bias. The jewlery test is likewise difficult, because many people find that neither gold nor silver really looks "better" on them.
So what can I do to figure out my skin's undertone?
Let's rework these questions into something more helpful and less prone to running into the body-blindness some women get when it comes to the "looks better" question:
- Get rid of the jewlery question entirely.
There is really no objective way to frame the jewlery question. My Mom is VERY Warm and Radiant and yet has plenty of silver jewlery. It's not the best on her, but jewlery is such a small part of an outfit it's hard to look at her and think "Wow she looks bad! Look at that clash!" I personally believe that while there is a best jewery color for everyone, it's not a good indicator for someone attempting to figure out undertone. I will note though that there aren't only 2 colors of jewelry! Many women who fall in that middle 'neutral' zone between Warm & Delicate and Cool & Delicate will find that Rose Gold looks best on them, while gold & silver might look equally 'okay', if a bit severe, on their delicate coloring!
- Instead of the "vein color" question, ask yourself: What undertone do I see in my skin when standing in natural light?
I hate the vein question; I can never only see one pronounced color. Instead I find the absolute best way to determine undertone is also the simplest and most straightforward:
  1. Put on a WHITE bra or t-shirt, or drape a white towel, blanket, etc. over yourself. Note you want this to be a a neutral white, not ivory with hints of yellow. As u/spongykiwi noted you can also use a piece of white computer paper for this as well! I'd just make sure that you're not wearing any bright colored clothing (neutral shades if possible) and make sure you're just looking at skin & paper, not the clothes & skin!)
  2. Pull your hair back so it's entirely off your face & body. If you can put it up in a white towel, even better.
  3. Stand outside with a large mirror. Look at your neck, your chest, and your arms. Don't look for any specific color, just ask yourself, "What do I see?" I find it surprising how when we stop trying to see specific colors it's often easy to have the answer bubble up to the surface. If you see multiple colors, then note that!
  4. Next go inside and stand next to a window in your most well-lit room and repeat this process. The bigger the mirror the better (I walked outside with a full length mirror) and do the same thing. Remember we're not paying attention to our faces here! Don't worry about looking in artificial lighting-- any tone difference in the bulb will change your undertone so they're not good indicators.
At the end of this process DO NOT BE FRUSTRATED if you didn't definitively see warm or cool tones. Just think over your results. If you feel like you saw hints of pink, but not super pink, then start out with Cool & Delicate! Many paler girls (I know from experience) might seen pink because they can get burned easily, but find that when they look they actually see faint yellow tones.
If you feel like you see both in your skin, ask yourself which you see more of. If you're still enitrely unsure, then hang out in that middle zone between Warm & Delicate and Cool & Delicate for a while! You might notice after a while that peachy tones look worse on you than cool pale blue, and that any foundation with more yellow than pink doesn't match as well, and so can conclude you're slightly more in the Cool & Delicate category. Maybe you're so faintly in the middle you can dip into both sides! The important thing to note is it's a spectrum, and that the closer you get to the middle the more confused women get-- but it's okay to be in the middle! That just means you don't have as pronounced of tones, which is totally fine! To be successful in figuring out your undertone you don't have to walk away confidently saying "I am Warm!" or "I am Cool!" It's okay to place your little dot somewhere on that spectrum and move it around as necessary, especially throughout the changing seasons!
One Final Note: Match your foundation to your Neck & Chest, NOT your face!
As I mentioned above, our faces tend to be red for a variety of reasons, not least of which is the fact that many of us have acne, rosacea, or hyperpigmentation. If you match your foundation to your face you're going to have a very pronounced line around your jaw, or wherever you stop your foundation. This is SUCH a common mistake women make, especially because sales reps love to match to our cheeks (ugh). Instead you need to match to your neck and chest! This might be a shade that is quite different than your face, but don't be scared! If you ever watch make up artists like Lisa Eldridge you'll hear her talk about this quite often, and even see that in her tutorials while her face is quite pink without makeup once she uses a foundation that matches her neck she looks flawless, radiant, and natural.
Take any foundation swatches and put them on the side of your neck & on your decolletage. If you're having trouble finding a foundation that matches your undertone you may well be in the center of the spectrum, and might have more luck mixing tones. For example someone who is Warm & Delicate might benefit from mixing together a Warm shade and a Neutral shade, to get rid of some of the yellow.
And a final note for cool toned women: Do NOT use warm foundation to 'cancel out' redness in your face!
I've seen this recommended before even on this sub, but it is NOT good advice in my opinion as any time you're putting a foundation on your face that doesn't match your neck & chest you're going to have obvious foundation lines.
The idea here is that if you, say, suffer from rosacea, you want to neutralize the red tones on your face by putting a yellow based (i.e. warm) foundation over the top. However there are many things wrong with this, not least of which is the fact that yellow does not neutralize red, green does. Also there is the thought that cool toned foundation, having a pinkish base, will make you more red, but that's obviously not the case! A foundation isn't pink or red, it's the color of your skin with hints of undertone! A cool-toned foundation that matches your neck and chest will not make your skin look more red, it will make it the same color as the rest of your skin. Using a warm foundation will not neutralize the redness, it will (attempt) to make your facial skin a different color than your upper body, which is going to look obvious.
Instead, if you have a lot of redness due to acne or rosacea regardless of skin tone, you should try using a green-colored primer or color correcting concealer, then using the foundation shade that matches your neck and chest.
I hope you found something in there helpful! I know many people want a magic trick to use, but honestly all of the 'tricks' tend to confuse the subject more. So while my advice may sound stupidly simple (to just look at yourself in natural light), I find that women tend to have an easier time with this than comparing themselves with others, or against different colors, or trying to figure out 'what they look better' in. Hope this helped!

Edit: Olive toned ladies do not get nearly enough love. I am not an expert on olive tones and they are so infrequently talked about I won't try to improvise here! Suffice it to say that olive-toned skin, on the whole, is defined by a slightly green tint to their skin. PALE GIRLS CAN HAVE OLIVE SKIN AS WELL! I recently came across a YouTuber who has pale olive toned skin and she talks about it a lot, so if you feel like you could fall into this category (i.e. you feel you lean warm, but you may have a hint of green) I'd recommend checking her out to see if her skin reminds you of your own! (Warning: she does curse quite a bit if you're sensitive to that! https://youtu.be/IyHJOcT3BfQ)
One of the tips she gives is to mix a liquid-y green color corrector (like NYX's green primer) in with your foundation to see if it creates a better match!
Edit 2: I just found a video talking about light olive skin from MerriamStyle, though she uses Mila Kunis who isn't super pale, but that might help you decide if you fit the olive skin category! She has a video on warm & cool olive skin!
Warm Light Olive Skin: https://youtu.be/aqVbMTtOa0s
Cool Light Olive Skin: https://youtu.be/lSL8Aqj9-Tg
Edit 3: As u/ihavesomeswamp pointed out, coloranalysis is a great resource if you wish to go further down the rabbit hole of color theory! Most people are familiar with these as the "seasons", and they can help guide you towards what colors will best enchance your natural beauty! I'd also recommend the YouTuber Aly Art, who has an insane amount of videos on just about everything beauty related and does a whole series on undertone and contrast!

2020.02.07 15:52 LukeWilsonStupidNose ‘Do you want to do a superhero movie?’ - answers from directors, writers, actors and actresses (2020 update)

I did one of these a couple years ago and people seemed to like it, but I figured it could use an update.
Take these with a grain of salt, of course, this is more for fun than anything. It’s a pretty long post so I’d probably recommend just skimming through for any names you’re interested in.
Pedro Almodóvar
It’s too big for me! I like to see what I’m doing, to direct movies the same day. You have to wait too long to see the results. I like being able to impose my opinion as a director. I’ve made 21 movies. I’m used to doing it the way I like, not fitting with the Hollywood system. (Vulture, 2019)
Darren Aronofsky
You never know. I mean, Superman would always be interesting. But they’re already deep into reinventing him, so that’s not going to happen for a long time. I think with those films you have to be careful because they are about communicating with as big an audience as you possibly can. Audiences who go to see those films expect a certain type of movie. (CinePop, 2017)
Gemma Arterton
I’m not really into superheroes and stuff like that. But you never know. (HeyUGuys, 2015)
Olivier Assayas
I mean, I enjoy it as a viewer. I don’t think I would touch it as a filmmaker, but I can certainly understand the fun one has with that material, not to mention the admiration I’ve always had for the writers and artists of the comic books. Once in a while, I still do read X-Men comics. I’m just fascinated by the complexity of the narratives and the ambition of the storytelling, which is way beyond whatever they’re doing in the movies. (AV Club, 2015)
Ari Aster
I’ve received some really enticing and cool offers, and I certainly want to hear what the offers are, but I am self-generating. I have so many films I want to make that I’ve written that are so vivid in my head.... Never say never, I definitely want to look at everything that comes my way, but it’ll take a lot to pull me away from these projects that are sort of on the tip of my tongue and that I’m ready to make. (Happy Sad Confused, 2019)
Michael Bay
I wouldn’t want to, it’s not my thing, it’s just not my gig. (Collider, 2016)
Orlando Bloom
I do read [the Marvel comics] a little bit. Who’s the British one? Captain Britain! There you go. Terrible costume, though. (BBC Radio 2, 2018)
Emily Blunt
Not particularly. (Variety, 2018)
Bong Joon-ho
I don’t think Marvel would ever want a director like me. I don’t expect any offers from them anytime soon. Of their movies, I did enjoy the films by James Gunn and James Mangold’s Logan, and I think there are great directors who can handle great projects like that. (Variety, 2020)
John Boyega
I sat down with Marvel years ago, but that’s not the direction I want to go at all. (ComicBook, 2019)
Danny Boyle
I wouldn’t be very good at it. I saw the Spider-Man movie, the animation, and I thought it was wonderful, but out of my league. Normally when you see a movie like that, you think, “I could maybe do that.” I didn’t think “Maybe” with this. It had a sensibility that felt truthful to its origins. Whoever made this, it is part of their bloodstream. You’ve got to recognise that you have no idea how to get there. I don’t think you should attempt one unless it’s in your bloodstream... Comics really aren’t in my bloodstream. (Empire, 2019)
Alison Brie
I would love to. I think especially after working on GLOW, where we all felt like we were superheroes, in a way it has satisfied my desire to do something like that. But in some ways it’s only whet my appetite. (Business Insider, 2017)
James Cameron
I’m not the slightest bit interested in laboring in someone else’s house. (Daily Beast, 2017)
Timothée Chalamet
I want to work with good storytellers and good directors on projects that are fresh, and on roles that feel challenging. Like Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, or Christian Bale in that film, or Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises. If it was something of that caliber, then that’s awesome. (Variety, 2018)
Toni Collette
It’d be super-fun to be a superhero. I’m not averse to any particular budget. I’m just averse to a shitty story. (Metro, 2015)
Olivia Colman
I’ve always wanted to play a Marvel baddie. I’m not sure I fit the mould, though. Like a powerful, extraordinary woman. Somebody with superpowers would be really fun, but I’m not sure how many middle-aged women they have in Marvel. (Vulture, 2016)
Sofia Coppola
I love making small low-budget films where I am really allowed to do it the way I want, and I think when you have those huge franchises there are a lot of cooks in the kitchen and meetings in conference rooms. But I’d never say never. (The Independent, 2017)
Bryan Cranston
I don’t want to do a character that has been done several times before. I don’t want to be compared, like, “Well, his Commissioner Gordon was yada yada yada.” I don’t want to do that. I want to take something that hasn’t been done. (ScreenGreek, 2018)
Tom Cruise
I’ll never say no if I find something that’s interesting, and I think an audience would like to see it, and they’re going to be entertained by it, and I feel like I can contribute something. (MTV, 2018)
Guillermo del Toro
Well, I co-wrote a whole screenplay on Justice League Dark for Warner Bros., so that’s your answer. I love Deadman, I love Demon, I love Swamp Thing, Zatanna. That’s a universe, is one thing. I’m very attracted to that side of the DC universe. But I’m not a superhero guy. For me to like a superhero, the superhero needs to be a monster. (ComicBook, 2019)
Leonardo DiCaprio
You never know. They’re getting better and better as far as complex characters in these movies. I haven’t yet. But no, I don’t rule out anything. (ShortList, 2015)
Zac Efron
I would do it in a second. I’m just waiting for the right opportunity. (Elle, 2017)
Taron Egerton
I love Marvel and I love the movies and I’d love the excuse to get in shape. (Variety, 2019)
Robert Eggers
Absolutely not. (Bloody Disgusting, 2019)
Cynthia Erivo
Yes. My body is suited to it. And I’d love to see what that experience is like. I think I could have a good time doing it. (Hollywood Reporter, 2020)
Giancarlo Esposito
I love those guys at Marvel. We’ve been trying to figure out how to collaborate on something. (ComicBook, 2016)
Rebecca Ferguson
I don’t think my goal is to throw myself into Marvel university. I love their stories, some of their characters are great, but I do it for the stories, for the people you work with, for the directors. We’ll see. (Metro, 2016)
David Fincher
Maybe. I was open to doing a zombie movie. I think in terms of stories — I don’t want to have to go and they say, “Okay, you have to dream up something for Meteor Man.” Or whatever. I don’t want to have to cobble together something around a pre-existing mask or uniform or cape or idea. (SXSW, 2019)
Jodie Foster
No, not interested in the franchise hero, superhero movie at all. It’s just not what I do. I’m glad other people do it and there’s always been those kinds of films, and there will always be those kinds of movies. It’s just now there’s been kind of, there’s a word for it in business where features as a business model have been more keen on, 95 percent of what they do is $200 million plus action films that appeal to all four quadrants that are these high-risk action films. It’s just not what I do. (ScreenCrush, 2018)
Cary Fukunaga
No, not really. I feel like they’ve all been taken... I do think there’s a place to make intelligent, big films. It depends on sensibility, too. I loved Guardians of the Galaxy. (Vulture, 2015)
Greta Gerwig
I would be open to doing a bigger film but at the same time I think, for me, one of the guiding principles of what I try to do to make my career as I have tried to make it, I always have a sense of what I would drop everything for and I think the thing that I would drop everything for is my own work that I write and that I make. It’s not that I’m not interested in those things, it’s just that they don’t come first. (Silver Screen Riot, 2015)
Hugh Grant
[I was recently offered one, but] there was a scheduling and family issue. Otherwise, I was absolutely up for it. It was a juicy role. It was a baddie. I love a good baddie. (Variety, 2019)
James Gray
I have no problem with Marvel. I’ve taken my children to Marvel movies and it’s a great experience — a bonding experience. It’s beautiful, and those films are brilliantly made. I loved the first Captain America. Terrific movie. So it’s not about shitting on them. The problem is not that — the problem is only that. It’s like if you went to the supermarket and you saw only one brand of cereal. Special K is all they had. Special K is not a bad-tasting cereal, but if that’s the only one you could get it would be awfully frustrating. If the movie business starts catering to smaller and smaller groups, it’s going to start hurting itself in a major way. I would argue that it already has. It’s my job as a director to try and push back against that a little bit. (IndieWire, 2019)
Eva Green
I really like physical stuff, actually. Even 300, I loved doing the training. It was thrilling to play that very strong woman. You get out of your head as an actor and you find the character through physical training. I’d love to do more of the superhero stuff. (ComingSoon, 2019)
Jon Hamm
It depends on the script, what the story is. I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well. (Hollywood Reporter, 2018)
Armie Hammer
I haven’t seen a superhero movie in a long time where I thought, “Fuck, I wish I was in that.” You know? So for me there’s not, like, a huge rush. (Happy Sad Confused, 2017)
Neil Patrick Harris
I’d love to be some sort of villain in a big-budget action movie. Or a superhero franchise. That’d be rad. (Interview Magazine, 2015)
Ethan Hawke
I guess I’ve been offered things like that that didn’t appeal to me. You have to be careful about what you’re famous for. You don’t want to be famous for something you don’t love. It brings people a lot of pain when that happens. (ScreenCrush, 2018)
Lucas Hedges
I don’t see myself signing a long-term contract. That sounds frightening. Some of those actors who are in those movies really make challenging material work. That’s really impressive. I don’t see that as a challenge I’m dying to take on. (Hollywood Reporter, 2019)
Taraji P. Henson
I would love to be a Marvel superhero. (The New York Times, 2017)
Ron Howard
I’ve had opportunities over the years. I really feel like you shouldn’t make a movie as a kind of exercise. You have to be all the way in. I was never a comic book guy. I like the movies when I see them, especially the origin stories. I never felt like I could be on the set, at 3 o’clock in the morning, tired, with 10 important decisions to make, and know, intuitively, what the story needs. (Happy Sad Confused, 2015)
Glenn Howerton
If Marvel came along and wanted me to play a superhero, I probably would because I think that would be really, really fun. (GQ, 2018)
Charlie Hunnam
I didn’t grow up a comic book fan and I haven’t really seen any of those Marvel films or the Batman films. It’s just not really my taste.... It’s not part of my vision for my career or what I aspire to. (Yahoo, 2017) taste.
Peter Jackson
I’m not a superhero guy. (Empire, 2019)
Lily James
I want to do more action. I want to be a superhero. (Refinery29, 2016)
Barry Jenkins
I’m friends with Ryan Coogler, and just seeing his path from Fruitvale Station to Black Panther, and seeing that his voice has arrived at Black Panther intact and he’s creating on this scale that I think has far more reach than the scale I’m creating on right now. Yeah, if the right character presented itself — I can’t imagine Ryan directing Doctor Strange, I just can’t. But I think even superheroes are characters. And I think what Ryan did so well in Black Panther was showing the human being that T’Challa is. So, if something like that presented itself, yeah, I’d be interested. So long as I had the freedom to create the way I create. (Houston Chronicle, 2018)
Charlie Kaufman
Of course. But — no one wants me to do that. (IndieWire, 2016)
Jennifer Kent
The opportunity has been there if I really wanted to pursue that path and it still probably is to some extent. I am excited by this aboriginal Marvel character, Manifold. Aboriginal culture is the oldest culture in the earth; it’s so sophisticated and deep. It would interest me to take that out to the planet. There could be some amazing story there. (IndieWire, 2019)
John Krasinski
I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also think they’re really well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. (Total Film, 2020)
Mila Kunis
No, that’s a lot of working out. Lots of those people are hungry, and you have to be because you have to be in shape and I don’t want to be hungry for 10 years. (MTV, 2018)
David Lowery
I grew up reading Marvel comic books and it’s a joy to see the aesthetic replicated on screen so thoroughly. Yet the aesthetic is so well-grounded at this point I don’t think there’s anything I could contribute to it. So the answer is likely no. But I do love superheroes, so there might be the right superhero movie out there I may want to delve in. (Maclean’s, 2017)
Rooney Mara
I don’t really get offered those parts, or maybe I do. I don’t even know. Maybe I do and I just don’t even realize it and just say no to them. For me it’s just all about the director and it’s all about the script and the story. (Deadline, 2016)
Matthew McConaughey
I did Sing, I did Kubo and the Two Strings. But other than that I’m like, what have I done that my kids can see? ... I’ll be there in a little while! I’ll do something. (Fandango, 2018)
Adam McKay
We’re always kind of talking. I think Feige is just the greatest, and what they’re doing is amazing. (Happy Sad Confused, 2018)
Christopher McQuarrie
I must tell you, the possibility of my doing a superhero movie is remote in the extreme. (Twitter, 2019)
Sam Mendes
The funniest letter I got — they were sending [a packet for] The Avengers, right? For directors to pitch — and I got a package, which was full of comic books, but no treatment; there was no script. But the cover letter said “Marvel’s Avengers will be released on May 3, 2012” or whatever it was. That was the first sentence of the cover letter. Not, “We have the pleasure of enclosing the materials…” or “Here is the script for…” But the release date.... I mean, that’s not my world particularly. I’ll go see it, particularly with my kids, but I didn’t want to make it. (Moviefone, 2012)
Sienna Miller
I feel quite content. It’s a huge commitment to have the ambition to be playing those parts and to be doing those roles. I don’t know that I have that, the ambition that it takes, the drive that it takes. Yes, I think I have subconsciously shied away from that, I think the idea of that is daunting. (The Guardian, 2017)
Helen Mirren
Oh yes! ... I’d probably have to be the baddie. You know, because I’m British. (CineMovie, 2013)
Viggo Mortensen
I’m just looking for good stories, and the ones I’ve happened to find and commit to have happened to be in other countries, or are independent films. I’m not trying to avoid any kind of budget or genre of movies. (LA Times, 2016)
Elisabeth Moss
I don’t think I’m good at the whole green screen thing, but I’m not averse to trying it out. I’m more into, like, a weird concentration camp miniseries [laughs]. That’s a sure path to my own Marvel movie. (MovieMaker Magazine, 2019)
Carey Mulligan
I don’t think I would be very good in something like that. (The Resident, 2018)
Eddie Murphy
No! I’m going to be 60 in a year. Who would I play? The old brotherman? I guess that’d be the character.... Man, fuck that. I can’t be standing around in a movie with a stick and shit, pointing and telling people, “Oh, you should do this or that.” I’m just not down with the whole superhero movie thing. But, if I had to, I guess I could play a villain or some shit like that. (IndieWire, 2019)
David Oyelowo
I tread with caution around the notion of those kinds of characters. Depending on which one of them you’re playing, there’s always a danger you’re going to get so identified with this larger than life character that it could become tougher for audiences to believe you in other roles. (The Wrap, 2015)
Al Pacino
I would do anything that I could understand in terms of how I fit in it. And you know, of course if I could fit in it. Anything’s possible. You know, I did Dick Tracy and I got an Oscar nomination, so come on. (Deadline, 2014)
Dev Patel
I had a wee bit of a scarring experience when I attempted to be a part of a franchise, and it didn’t quite hit the mark. It makes you evaluate what kind of mark you want to leave on the industry. (Esquire, 2016)
Jordan Peele
So many of those properties — it’s a childhood dream to be able to essentially see what you saw in your imagination as a child, watching or reading or whatever you were doing with that stuff. It’s a filmmaker’s dream. But you know, I feel like I only have so much time. I have a lot of stories to tell, and it just doesn’t feel right. It just doesn’t feel right. I’m a comic book and graphic novel appreciator, but I can’t call myself a true fan boy. (Rolling Stone, 2019)
Sean Penn
You asked me with a camera on this face and in this time of my life if I would be a superhero? (laughs) Maybe, if there’s a very funny one. (Reuters, 2015)
Brad Pitt
I don’t think so. I think there’s enough. I don’t think I have anything to add. (24 Oras, 2019)
Daniel Radcliffe
If it was good enough and something I was interested in. I’m not sure if I’d sign up for something that was another seven or eight films or ten years, but a shorter franchise, yeah. (Business Insider, 2016)
Lynne Ramsay
When I was 15 or 16, I had a boyfriend who was an obsessive fan [of comics]. His apartment was so full of comic-books he made a path through the boxes to get places.... My boyfriend at the time was always on about the psychology of the characters, the ones that he really liked tended to have these strange histories. A lot of them are quite Freudian and strange. I liked Bill Sienkiewicz’s work, and Alan Moore is so special.
The ones I liked were deeply, darkly screwed-up reflections of the world – where you can see how they became what they became and that past was super-psychological.... There’s some amazing things in graphic novels and comic-books, and they taught me a lot about filmmaking as well. Someone said to me that You Were Never Really Here’s like a graphic novel. I think I’ve learned a lot about filmmaking through comic-books, in terms of how to tell a story visually. That had an influence on me. If you’re able to do it without a committee, with a real set approach to it, where you have freedom and people trust you, that would be amazing. (Yahoo, 2018)
Eddie Redmayne
I love the films. You know how in summer, when studios compete for people to see their summer blockbusters, I am their dream. I see all of them. I would never rule out the opportunity to be in one. (The Sun, 2015)
Nicolas Winding Refn
I love Hollywood. I love glamour and glitz. I love camp. I love vanity, I love egos, I indulge in all that, but the bigger kind of approaches or the offers that have come my way or the interest, in the end, I’ve always just felt that I wasn’t the right person in the end for it. Doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. I mean I would love to do one of those comic book movies. (Collider, 2019)
Kelly Reichardt
There’s absolutely no danger of that happening [laughs]. But maybe there’s something for me somewhere in between that and my sort of films. I did really enjoy doing my little wagon crash in Meek’s Cutoff. It was one of the most fun things I ever did, and I suddenly realized, “Oh, this is why people love to smash things up. It’s so much fun!” (Variety, 2016)
Boots Riley
I have a problem with superheroes in general, because, politically, superheroes are cops. Superheroes work with the government to uphold the law. And who do the laws work for? Put it like this: We all love bank robbers, because we know that in the two sides of that equation, the robbers are the ones to root for, not the banks. Only in superhero movies and the news do they try to make us think we’re against the bank robbers. (The New York Times, 2018)
Guy Ritchie
I’m up for it.... I’m a guy that likes to work so I’m gonna work. And I’ll work with whatever I can to make it work. I’m not an absolutist about what a genre is so I’m not a no-man, I’m a yes-man when it comes to making something manifest. (Variety, 2017)
Gina Rodriguez
I would love to be a superhero—that’s all I want to do is play a superhero. (E! Online, 2015)
Saoirse Ronan
If a script came along that was strong, interesting, original, I would take it. A good script is a good script. (Vogue, 2018)
Winona Ryder
No one is banging my door down to be a superhero. I don’t know how good I would be. I have low bone density, so I don’t know if anyone really wants to put me in a cape and chuck me out a window. (Collider, 2016)
Josh Safdie
A studio offered us to do a sequel to this huge comic-book thing. We just said, “No, we don’t wanna do that!” But we are interested in working in the studio system. (The Independent, 2017)
Andrew Scott
Absolutely, I wouldn’t say no. But it very much depends on the character. And what exactly it is that you’re doing. I’ve definitely had conversations about that world before, but as yet, it hasn’t transpired. So for me, it just depends on the acting requirement. The films are definitely really cool. So, I don’t know. We’ll wait and see. (Digital Spy, 2019)
Amanda Seyfried
They’re highly enjoyable. I love being an audience member. I just don’t want to put on the suit. Nope, I’m not into [stunts]. That’s not where I see my career going. (Late Night with Seth Meyers, 2015)
Alexander Skarsgård
If you do it with the right tone, then sure. (The Guardian, 2015)
Steven Soderbergh
Well, look, those movies are bananas. I see some of them and I’m like, “I couldn’t direct 30 seconds of that.” Just because so much of my time would be spent on things I’m ultimately not interested in. You look at my career, and it’s mostly just two people in a room. Two people in a room to me is exciting. If you look at history, it's the way gigantic things happen; it’s the result of two people in a room. I’ve always felt that was the richest tapestry you could come up with. So anything that isn’t about that, I’m immediately kind of like, “Well, why isn’t it two people in a room?” So you’re just spending all this time having conversations with VFX people, instead of with actors about what the scene is. And that’s what I’m interested in. It’s not that I’m a snob. It’s just that I wasn’t into comic books as a kid, and I’m not interested in things that don’t have to do with performance. (W Magazine, 2017)
Aaron Sorkin
I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel. I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book. It’s not that I don’t like them. It’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one. So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m gonna wanna go back and start reading from the first issue on. (ComicBook, 2017)
Lakeith Stanfield
I would love to play the Joker. That’d be beautiful. (Jimmy Kimmel Live, 2020)
Kristen Stewart
I think maybe what I’ve learned is that I don’t want to do another [big franchise] ever again [laughs] … No, I mean, sure. Maybe. I never really limit myself. (Konbini, 2019)
Justin Theroux
There are younger guys than me that are better at it than I am. I’ll leave it up to them. (Vulture, 2014)
Jean-Marc Vallée
If the script is great, yeah. But so far, it’s not my cup of tea. (Hollywood Reporter, 2016)
Paul Verhoeven
If I could add some other level to it, but if it's the same as whatever those other people are doing right now, then no. No! I'm not saying it's not possible, but, like, when they wanted to pit Batman against Superman [laughs, hands flailing] My God! (Metro, 2016)
Denis Villeneuve
No, because I’m not from that culture. I’m French-Canadian which means that my culture is European. I was influenced by authors from France and Belgium, and Europeans are graphic novelists. Honestly, I know very little about most of them. (Happy Sad Confused, 2017)
Mark Wahlberg
I’m not leaving my trailer in a cape. (American Film Market, 2016)
Lulu Wang
[Big movies like that are] really made by committee. And that’s one of the reasons I don’t want to do it right now. Because I haven’t figured out my voice yet as a filmmaker. (Hollywood Reporter, 2019)
Denzel Washington
I haven’t been approached. You know, we’ll see what happens. (Joe.ie, 2018)
Ben Wheatley
They usually take people after two films, and [Free Fire was] film six. So you can safely say they’ll not come fucking knocking on my door. (Q&A, 2017)
Olivia Wilde
Totally, yeah. Absolutely. (MTV, 2019)
Evan Rachel Wood
I would love to be a superhero or something. (Cinephiled, 2014)
Steven Yeun
I’d like to do anything, if it comes my way and moves me I’m into it. (South China Morning Post, 2020)

2019.12.19 01:36 sweetnothing99 [M4F] Celeb/Faceclaim in the Apocalypse, or Vampires - a Masquerade

**All prompts are for Ages 18+. NSFW/SMUT themes. Hopefully long term. One paragraph to multiple paragraphs. **
I'm pretty laid back and easy going - I love to write and love smut, so hit me with whatever you've got. Generally I enjoy the story to drive the smut - but however we want the story to flow is fine with me.
I've been craving some RP based around a celeb (you) and my character, which will be an OC or based off anyone you want. I'm only going for your character's physical appearance to be based on said celeb, but you can actually play them in totality if you'd like. I have a list of celebrities I like at the bottom - we can also incorporate several of them throughout the story. I'm fairly open to any iteration of this and the prompts.
  1. Apocalypse (modern day): Your character and I run into one another in/post apocalypse. This could be Zombie, Vampiric, or any other kind we can think of in nature. My initial thought is that one of us has a sort of stronghold in a suburb, and on a supply run we happen into eachother. Get to know one another, sparks fly, and then we team up. Maybe we decide to head for the mountains/desert/forest. Maybe we go on a quest for another loved one. Maybe we go on a quest for a cure. I'm open for any of that.
  2. Vampire (modern/medieval/any time period): Right now I have in my mind as a starter we begin at a masquerade in either modern day or medieval times, but I'm wide open on this. I used to RP vamps all the time, but it's been a while. Your char can be a human or vamp, or really anything supernatural if you want - meeting/teaming/romantically involved with my character, which is also open to being a vamp/human/maybe something else if you're into it. Pretty wide open on changing this one, I've just been watching a vamp show lately and it made me nostalgic.
  3. Anything you want with using one or many of the celebs below.
Preferred celebrities (in no particular order - except #1 is my #1 right now :) - 1. Nina Dobrev 2. Gal Gadot 3. Kate Beckinsale 4. Mila Kunis 5. Anne Hathaway 6. Amanda Seyfried 7. Anna Taylor-Joy 8. Bella Thorne 9. Eva Green 10. Alexandra Daddario 11. Victoria Justice 12. Erin Moriarty 13. Sophie Turner 14. Crystal Reed 15. Jennifer Lawrence 16. Jessica Chastain
As far as the medium, I'd like to start on Reddit PM - would be open to Discord or E-mail after a few posts if that's your thing.
Thanks for reading! Hope to hear from you.

2019.12.08 15:20 ThuptenSonamTashi Qupiter Assending

I recently had an encounter with a Qultist which I think may have been the strangest Qencounter I've ever had.
My BF and his parents are Qultists and I'm used to hearing them talk about this shit. But recently I visited them for a day and met their landlord, who they are very chummy with and who is apparently their little tribal leader--he practically seemed like their Q priest or something.
He spent probably a good three hours speaking non-stop. I swear to God he didn't take a single breath the whole time. This dude lives on whatever essence of Q that he can squeeze out of his internet connection. The others seem to simply accept his proclamations and "research" as gospel.
He spent a long time talking about the movie Jupiter Ascending. He very emphatically claimed that everything that happens in Jupiter Ascending is what is going on in real life. If you haven't seen the movie, basically it is about this society of aliens that spans across galaxies. This includes many of the stereotypical aliens like greys, reptilians etc., as well as a homo sapien species that "seeded" the earth and other planets with humans all of which they eventually "harvest." The harvested humans are used to make this substance that they consume essentially to live forever. The movie stars Mila Kunis, whose character grows up on earth only to be identified by the alien homo sapiens as a reincarnation (in their words an "exact genetic copy") of their queen.
The movie feels like a space-opera version of The Princess Diaries with Anne Hathaway if the Princess Diaries had been about a kingdom secretly controlling all of humanity for the purposes of harvesting their flesh. Whether you have or haven't seen the movie before, I recommend watching it while thinking of Q. I think this movie is the ultimate example of the Boomer mindset that attracts people to Q in the first place. The film is extraordinarily cheesy, badly written, and brimming with common movie-tropes. Everything about the movie is simultaneously outrageous, fantastic and over the top, while also being incredibly cliché and boring. The ridiculousness and clear parallels with QAnon (as well as the crush I've had on Mila Kunis ever since growing up with That 70's Show) were the only things that kept me watching. But at the same time it is a perfect example of the comic-book-esque, fantasy world these people live in. You would have to be seriously off your rocker to even consider the idea that this movie is hiding some deep dark secret about humanity.
So this guy goes on and on about Jupiter Ascending, and at one point he randomly decides to declare "I have gone beyond karma." Seriously, that came from nowhere. He was all over the place. He suddenly started discussing his theory (which he presents as hard facts) that the society depicted in Jupiter Ascending kidnapped homo sapiens from a "nondual realm" and placed them in "this dualistic realm." He said that when you die you visit a court, and in that court you are forced to sign a contract promising to reincarnate. At this point his rant drifted overtly into Sovereign Citizen ideology. He also claimed that all religions and all priests, monks, etc. of those religions are knowing collaborators of this alien society, and they are working to make everyone slaves, eternally bound to "the dualistic realm," forced to reincarnate over and over.
As proof of this he discussed "the corruption of language." He said he had 3 whole pages (/s) of evidence of this corruption. Conveniently all of his evidence came exclusively from the English language. He used ridiculous examples like the world "alive," which he claims secretly means "not living" because of the prefix "a-" proving his misunderstanding of language and prefixes in particular. He claimed birth certificates use the word alive to covertly say "born dead at x:xx time." He discussed this theory at length, with each example more ridiculous than the last. He said corrupted language was being used to control humanity. Because apparently saying someone is dead magically makes it true or something? Or grants you power over someone? It reminds me a lot of the magic system in Eragon where you can control someone or something if you know its "true name." He thinks the corruption of language binds humanity to "the dualistic realm." I have no idea how he explains the existence of other languages.
He claims that movies like Jupiter Ascending and "corruptions of language" are proof of his theories. He says they are used to "subconsciously tell their slaves the truth while lying to them." He says they do this because they think it circumvents karma. This ties into why Qultists think the deep state is always leaving symbols and clues around. He thinks they do this because then they can be as evil as they want without facing consequences.
I don't think he ever explicitly mentioned Q (or SovCit), but it was clear what he was talking about. It ended up being an excellent example of how QAnon brings all kinds of disparate CTs together into a single Grand Unifying Conspiracy Theory. The lines between Q and SovCit shit were so blurred as to become the exact same thing.
Anyway, I don't think I've come across any other Qtips talking about Jupiter Ascending this way, but many of the themes are almost direct parallels of central QAnon beliefs. It makes me want to find out how popular this movie is with the Q crowd.
